In continuation of Sir Henry May's
46021 Despatch No. 223 of the 29th July, 1918, I have the honour

to transmit a copy of a local press report, containing the verdict returned by the Jury in the Coroner's enquiry into the death of Sergeant Glendinning and Police Constable B. 18,
at Tai 0.

I enclose a copy of a minute by the Captain Superintendent of Police which details the manner in
which the Indian Police concerned have been dealt with, and the steps which have been taken to provent a recurrence of the tragedy.

I also enclose a portion of a previous
minute by the Captain Superintendent of Police which shows that certain persons concerned acted promptly and courageous- -ly. The coxswain of the ferry launch and the shopkeeper in
question have been suitably rewarded, while the Chinese
Sergeant Interpreter has been promoted to Fourth Grade.
The enclosed copy of a letter from the
Sikh Comunity of the Colony expresses in a gratifying manner
the feeling of that body.
